Ellington Carthan has a rich musical career that consists of teaching, performing, producing, and composing. He performs jazz regularly, accompanies for choirs, soloists, and collaborates with various ensembles.  He is self employed as a freelance performer and teacher.  Ellington holds a Bachelors of Music Degree in Jazz Studies and a Bachelors Degree in Music Technology, both from University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). 

At 24 years old, Ellington Carthan has 20+ piano students and 8 years of professional experience as a pianist and teacher.  He is currently a graduate student at Howard University where he is pursuing a Masters of Music Degree in Jazz Studies. He is an aspiring Film Composer and is on his way to becoming a world class pianist.
