Ellington Carthan has a rich musical career that consists of teaching, performing, producing, and composing. He performs jazz regularly, accompanies for choirs, soloists, and collaborates with various ensembles.  He is self employed as a freelance composer, performer and teacher.  Ellington holds a Bachelors of Music Degree in Jazz Studies and a Bachelors Degree in Music Technology, both from University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC).  

At 26 years old, Ellington Carthan has numerous piano students and 10 years of professional experience as a pianist and teacher.  From 2018-2019 he was a graduate student at Howard University where he was singing with Howard's premiere vocal ensemble Afro Blue led by Connaitre Miller. Currently, he is furthering his studies with the great Cyrus Chesnut while developing  his career as a film/video game composer.
